Dacons, who had a brief professional stint in Uruguay last year, played for the Owls from 2003-04 through 2006-07. He was a team captain during Coach Fran Dunphy’s first year on North Broad Street, starting all 30 games and averaging 7.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest.

Dacons came to Temple from Oak Hill Academy, but he started his high school career in his hometown of Statesville, N.C., where he was coached by his father.

Dacons earned his degree last year and will begin his graduate student work this fall.
