The Temple men’s basketball team will face Providence in the opening round of the ESPNU Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 15 (3:30 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time tip-off) at the Coliseo de San Juan. The Owls will play three games in the four-day tournament, which also includes Arkansas, Charleston, Houston, VCU, Miami, and Marist.In addition to Providence, Coach Fran Dunphy’s squad has been bracketed with Arkansas and Charleston. The Owls will play one of those two teams on Friday night, Nov. 16.
After a day off on Saturday, the tournament will conclude with a pair of doubleheaders on Sunday (Nov. 18). The third place game and the championship game will be held on Sunday night.
The first two days of the tournament and the afternoon games on Sunday will be televised by ESPNU. The third place game and the championship game will be televised on ESPN2.
