Rookie guard Dustin Salisbery won’t be the only Temple basketball alum taking his shot in the 2007 NBA Summer League, which gets started on Friday in Las Vegas. In addition to Salisbery (76ers), former Owls Mark Karcher (Nuggets) and Antywane Robinson (SuperSonics) have secured summer roster spots, while Lynn Greer will be playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. Among those four, Greer is the only one with NBA experience, having just completed his rookie year with the Bucks. Karcher played for the Maryland Nighthawks of the ABA this past season, while Robinson played for the Sioux Falls SkyForce of the NBA Developmental League. There are three major summer leagues for NBA teams, starting with this week’s event in Las Vegas. Next week comes the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City and the Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando. Several NBA teams have not announced their summer league rosters, including the New York Knicks, who figure to include Temple product Mardy Collins on their squad. Collins saw extensive action for the Knicks at the tail end of the 2006-07 campaign. Salisbery and Robinson will be the first to see action in Las Vegas, as the Sixers and Sonics play in separate games on Friday afternoon. The Nuggets and Bucks will see their first action on Sunday. |
