OwlsDaily.com has tracked the basketball whereabouts of nearly every Temple player from the past 15 years – from shooting stars like David Hawkins, who recently completed his third professional season in Italy, to less prominent names such as Tyreek Byard, who helped Lincoln University reach the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 for the second straight year. Here's PART ONE of the two-part report.

Following is a nearly complete list of the current or most recent basketball whereabouts of Temple men’s basketball alumni from the past 15 years. This alphabetical list only includes those who’ve been active as players or coaches on the professional and collegiate level.

PART I (Aaron-Ivey)

Carlton Aaron
Aaron is playing for the Battle Creek Knights in the International Basketball League this summer. He previously played in England. Aaron finished his college career at UMKC after leaving Temple during his freshman year.

Levan Alston
Alston’s recent basketball activity is unknown. He played for a Cypriot team, Keravnos Nicosia, in the 2006 EuroCup Challenge. Alston has played professionally in Cyprus, Austria, and China.

Lamont Barnes
Barnes is currently playing in Spain for Madrid Fuenalabrada. He joined Fuenalabrada after two excellent years with Leon Caja Espana, where he was named the league’s top pivot player in 2005-06. Don’t expect Barnes to leave Spain anytime soon. According to a recent report, he won’t count against Fuenalabrada’s limit of foreign players because he’s engaged to marry a Spanish native.

Derrick Battie
Battie’s recent basketball activity is unknown. He hasn’t played professionally in several years.

Ronald Blackshear
Blackshear played in Romania this past season, averaging 28 points per game and shooting 41 percent from three-point range. Previously, Blackshear played in the Dominican Republic. He finished his college career at Marshall after leaving Temple during his rookie campaign.

Rasheed Brokenborough
Brokenborough just completed his first year in Turkey, averaging 15.8 points per game for Tofas. Since graduating from Temple, he’s played all over Europe, most recently in Latvia and Spain.

Rick Brunson
Brunson retired from the NBA last fall and worked as a player development assistant for the Denver Nuggets. He recently applied for the head coaching job at Salem State, a Division III school in the Massachusetts town where Brunson went to high school.

Keith Butler
Butler saw limited action as a senior transfer at DePaul this past season, averaging 8.4 minutes per game for the Blue Demons. He hasn’t yet surfaced on the summer basketball circuit.

Tyreek Byard
Byard starred at Lincoln University this past season, averaging 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest for the Division III school, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the second straight year. He still has one year of college eligibility remaining.

Mardy Collins
Collins had a noteworthy rookie year for the New York Knicks, and not just because he committed the hard foul that led to the fracas with Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets. When injuries hit the Knicks late in the season, Collins started nine games and finished up averaging 15 minutes and 4.5 points per game.

William Cunningham
Cunningham’s recent basketball activity is unknown. He played in Uruguay during the 2005-06 season. Cunningham had several NBA stints during his pro career.

Julian Dunkley
Dunkley, not yet 30, already has a noteworthy college coaching resume. He served as an assistant coach at Quinnipiac this past season, after working the previous year as an assistant at Maine. The only problem: Quinnipiac dropped its head coach this offseason, and Dunkley’s name hasn’t surfaced elsewhere, yet. Oh yeah, Dunkley is also the head coach of the Jamaican National Team.

Glen Elliot
Elliot’s recent basketball activity is unknown. He played two seasons at Florida A&M after transferring from Temple following the 2002-03 campaign.

Huey Futch
Futch’s recent basketball activity is unknown. He hasn’t played professionally in several years.

Chris Gaither
Gaither has completed his career at Georgetown College, an NAIA school located in Kentucky. Gaither, a backup point guard, averaged 19 minutes and 4.9 points per game as a senior this past season.

Lynn Greer
Greer saw extended action in the final month of his rookie year with the Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 21 minutes and 8.1 points per game in Milwaukee’s last 10 games. For the season, Greer played in 41 games, averaging 10.5 minutes and 4.5 points per outing. Before signing with the Bucks, Greer played professionally in Italy, Russia, Poland, and Greece.

David Hawkins
Hawkins recently completed his third year in Italy – his second with Lottomatica Roma, which competed in the prestigious Euroleague this season. Hawkins averaged 13.6 points per game in Euroleague action and 14.4 points per game in the Italian League.

Nehemiah Ingram
Ingram is playing for the Kentucky Retros of the American Basketball Association this summer. The Retros are an ABA expansion franchise that plays in Louisville. This week, the Retros are participating in the Hoops Kentucky Pro-Am Tournament.

Jason Ivey
Ivey was released from his assistant coaching job at UMKC this offseason when the school dropped head coach Rich Zvosec. Ivey worked at UMKC for seven years, where he was hired by Dean Demopoulos and retained by Zvosec. His name has not yet surfaced at another school.
